Kate Colburn re-joined Beemer Hadler & Willett PA in July of 2014. Though she is currently offering assistance in the form of general office support and legal research, she boasts many exceptional credentials that assist her with her duties. Kate received her Juris Doctorate in Law from UNC Chapel Hill in 2000, enjoyed eight years as a practicing attorney focusing in Family Law, and served three years as a Judicial Magistrate in Orange County. Kate served on the NC Court of Appeals for one year and was the winner of the MLK Scholarship for work in Poverty Law focusing in Consumer Issues and Landlord/Tenant Law
Sharon Lin joined Beemer, Hadler & Willett in October of 2015. Ms. Lin graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Chinese. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2015, and was admitted to the bar that same year.
While in law school, Ms. Lin was a certified legal intern at the UNC Civil Legal Assistance Clinic, a staff member of the First Amendment Law Review and President of the Asian American Law Student Association. She also worked as a legal intern at the UNC Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity (now the North Carolina Poverty Research Fund). Later, she was a Martin Luther King, Jr. Summer Intern at the Legal Aid of North Carolina – Wilmington Office.
Ms. Lin’s primary practice areas include real estate law and estate planning. She has also represented clients in the areas of local land use and zoning, landlord-tenant law and real property and construction law. In her free time, Ms. Lin enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. She also loves to read, travel, and go on long walks with her dog, Basil. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
